Terms of Service
Last updated: 25 April 2026 (rev. 2)
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the SutherlandShire Cleaners website and our booking and referral service for carpet cleaning in Sutherland Shire, NSW. By submitting a quote request, booking a cleaner through us, or using this website, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use our service.
1. Our Role
- SutherlandShire Cleaners operates as a booking and referral service connecting Sutherland Shire residents with independent local carpet cleaners.
- We do not employ the cleaners, and we do not perform the cleaning work ourselves.
- Your cleaning service contract is formed directly between you and the cleaner we refer you to.
- We may receive a referral fee from the cleaner. This does not change the price you pay.
- We remain your point of contact for booking questions and for raising issues under our 72-hour re-clean promise (see section 10).
2. Services
We coordinate quote requests and match customers with local cleaners in the Sutherland Shire region for carpet steam cleaning, stain removal, upholstery cleaning, end-of-lease cleaning, and related services. The cleaner we refer provides the actual cleaning service. Availability, inclusions, and pricing vary by cleaner and are confirmed at the time of quoting.
3. Quotes & Pricing
- Indicative prices shown on our website (e.g. “from $79 per room”) are typical starting points for cleaners in our network.
- Final pricing is set by the cleaner we match you with, based on on-site assessment of job scope, carpet size, and condition.
- Your cleaner will confirm the final price with you before starting work. You can approve or decline.
- All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD). GST treatment depends on the cleaner's registration status.
4. Bookings & Cancellations
- A booking is confirmed once the cleaner we've referred has agreed a date and time directly with you.
- Cancellation and rescheduling terms are set by your assigned cleaner — please contact them directly as soon as possible.
- Late cancellations, or failure to provide access at the agreed time, may incur a call-out fee charged by your cleaner.
- If you can't reach your cleaner, contact us and we'll help.
5. Access & Preparation
To allow the cleaner to do the work safely and effectively, you agree to:
- Provide safe access to the premises at the agreed time
- Disclose any pre-existing damage, stains, or fragile areas before work begins
- Move or secure valuable, fragile, or sentimental items before the cleaner arrives
- Ensure running water, power, and adequate ventilation are available
- Keep children and pets out of work areas during cleaning and drying
6. Our Responsibilities
- We take reasonable care to match you with a cleaner who services your area.
- We handle your quote request promptly and pass your details on accurately.
- If you have trouble reaching your assigned cleaner, contact us and we'll help with the handover.
- The quality, safety, and outcome of the cleaning work itself are the cleaner's responsibility. Rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply between you and the cleaner.
7. Limits on What We Can Do
Professional cleaning produces excellent results in most cases, but some outcomes depend on factors beyond any cleaner's control. Cleaners in our network cannot guarantee:
- Removal of permanent stains, dye transfer, bleaching, or damage caused by wear, age, or prior chemical treatment
- Restoration of carpets that have reached the end of their usable life
- Elimination of odours caused by issues in the subfloor, underlay, or structure
- Removal of rust, ink, paint, or other substances that have bonded with carpet fibres
We don't control how your assigned cleaner performs the work. Your cleaner will give you an honest assessment of what's achievable before starting.
8. Payment
- Payment is made directly to your cleaner on completion, on terms agreed between you and them.
- Accepted payment methods (cash, EFTPOS, credit card, bank transfer) are set by your cleaner.
- Tax invoices, where required, are issued by your cleaner under their ABN.
9. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot legally be excluded. Those rights apply between you and the cleaner who performs the work.
Subject to those non-excludable rights, and because SutherlandShire Cleaners acts only as an introducer:
- Our liability is limited to our acts or omissions in making the introduction.
- We are not liable for the cleaner's acts, omissions, damage, delays, or any failure of their service.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, or loss of use.
- To the extent not excluded by law, any claim against us is capped at $100 or the referral fee we received for your job, whichever is greater.
- Claims concerning the cleaning work itself should be raised with your cleaner directly. We'll help facilitate where we can (see section 10).
10. 72-Hour Re-clean Promise
If you're not satisfied with the cleaning work, tell us within 72 hours of completion and we'll do our best to arrange a re-clean with your assigned cleaner or, where appropriate, refer the issue to another cleaner in our network.
This is a promise about effort, not outcome — we cannot guarantee the cleaner will agree to re-attend. Their cancellation, warranty, and re-do policies are between you and them. Rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not affected by this promise.
11. Website Use
When using our website, you agree not to:
- Use it for any unlawful purpose
- Submit false or misleading information through our forms
- Attempt to interfere with the security or operation of the site
- Copy, reproduce, or distribute content without our written permission
All content on this website — including text, images, logos, and design — is owned by or licensed to SutherlandShire Cleaners and is protected by copyright.
12. Privacy
Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of NSW.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows the latest revision. Continued use of our services after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
