The beta-carotene concentration in canned palm nut cream is similar to or slightly lower than fresh sauce graine, as some carotenoid oxidation occurs during the canning and storage process. The stain profile and treatment sequence are identical — the fat-soluble beta-carotene in the palm fat requires the same cornflour → lipase → hydrogen peroxide treatment. Canned palm nut cream is slightly more homogeneous than fresh sauce graine (no fibrous pulp), which means it spreads slightly more readily when spilled.

Two hydrogen peroxide applications haven't fully removed the orange from my moambe stain — what next?

For stubborn palm nut beta-carotene, a third hydrogen peroxide application (allowing full drying between applications) is the next step. If three applications still leave a faint orange residue, a paste of oxygen-based colour-safe bleach (sodium percarbonate, such as Napisan powder) mixed with water to a paste consistency, applied to the stain for 30 minutes then rinsed, can provide additional oxidative bleaching beyond what 3% hydrogen peroxide achieves. If the residue persists after this, professional carpet cleaning with commercial oxidising pre-spray is the most reliable next step — commercial products are available at higher hydrogen peroxide concentrations than household 3%.

The moambe spill is on a light beige carpet — will the orange come out completely?

On light beige synthetic carpet (nylon or polyester), fresh moambe stains treated promptly with the full sequence (cornflour within 5 minutes, lipase enzyme, then two hydrogen peroxide applications) typically achieve complete or near-complete removal. The synthetic polymer fibres have less affinity for carotenoids than wool fibres. On light beige wool carpet, complete removal is possible but less certain — wool binds fat-soluble carotenoids more strongly, and hydrogen peroxide must be used carefully at 3% to avoid any dye interaction. If the stain has dried for more than 30 minutes before treatment begins, the result depends on how deeply the palm fat has migrated — a professionally extracted stain (hot water extraction with commercial enzyme pre-spray) is more reliable for dried stains on light carpet.

My moambe version included smoked fish instead of chicken — does that affect the carpet stain?

Smoked fish in moambe replaces chicken as the protein source, which changes two aspects of the stain. First, smoked fish myoglobin: fish myoglobin (where present — mainly in dark-meat species) is treated the same way as meat myoglobin (cold water then protease enzyme).
