- Rinse with warm water — again, warm rather than cold to ensure the collagen rinses out cleanly.
- Apply hydrogen peroxide (3%) for any soy sauce colour from the seasoning or the accompanying black vinegar dipping sauce. One to two rounds on light carpet.
- If black vinegar dipping sauce was also spilled: add a targeted hydrogen peroxide round for the dark vinegar stain (Zhejiang black vinegar has a distinctive dark brown-black colour).

On impact, the soup can burst outward in multiple directions, creating a splash pattern that extends 10–20 cm from the drop point even though the dumpling itself is only 3–4 cm in diameter. Before blotting, scan the full area around the drop point — there will often be small soup droplets at the perimeter of the burst radius that are easy to overlook.
